Propose a Use Case or Policy

If you have an idea about how Advanced Wireless Technology could be applied in a new context or have a challenge or opportunity that might be addressed by Advanced Wireless Technology, why not propose a Use Case or suggest an enabling Policy.

Between April and December 2024, interested parties were invited to submit one of three types of proposal

Concept Proposals could attract up to £5,000 worth of expertise to explore an idea and test whether Advanced Wireless Technology could be utilised.  A total of 6 Concept Studies have been funded by the RSPAWIR.

Physical Trial Proposals covered more mature schemes and could result in up to c. £250,000 of funding to undertake a full operational Use Case trial.  A total of 16 Physical Trials received funding.

Policy in a Box Proposals from public sector bodies could be supported with up to £20,000 of funding to contribute to staff time and costs to develop policies or strategies to a decision ready state. One Policy in a Box project was funded.

The RSPAWIR programme is due to cease at the end of March 2025.  Therefore, new funding proposals cannot not be supported

However, the RSPAWIR may continue in some form beyond the end of March and remain keen to hear ideas which it may be able to champion for funding.

Interested parties can therefore continue to use the forms in the related links section to suggest a use case.
