Among other things, the partnership has a specific objective to provide a strategic pilot for innovation and testing of landscape scale approaches aimed at tackling the climate emergency. Using the £5.4m funding that has been secured through the partnership, work is now underway to plant around 127ha of new broadleaf woodland to assist with carbon capture, nature recovery and flood risk management.
