Digital innovation will be in the spotlight at a farming and agri-business conference being held at Harper Adams University this month.
The Digital Innovation in Farming: Connecting Rural Landscapes event is being held at Harper Adams University near Newport, Shropshire, on Thursday March 20 from 9am to 4pm.
Funded by the River Severn Advanced Wireless Innovation Region (RSPAWIR) the day will deliver an understanding of how advanced wireless technologies can be used to enhance and improve performance across the sectors.
Both Harper Adams University and Gloucestershire’s Hartpury University will be sharing their experiences of applying the technology in use cases ranging from crop and stock monitoring to water management, automated farmland biodiversity monitoring and remote communication.
Matt Smith, project manager for the RSPAWIR, which is managed by Shropshire Council, said: “Events such as this help close the knowledge gap and demonstrate how advanced technologies can be adopted and tailored to real-world agri-business needs.
“There will be opportunities to gain some insight and talk to people who have hands-on experience of the technologies and how they can be applied to the sector.
“We are delighted the RSPAWIR is able to support this opportunity for farmers and agri-businesses to discover more about digital innovation and rural connectivity and how it can be implemented.”
The event at the Regional Food Academy, Harper Adams University, Edgmond, Shropshire, TF10 8NB is free and lunch will be provided. To register please click here
